PROGRAM STRUCTURE.

A complete itinerary (3 years, full-time)

YEAR 1

Master’s Degree in Continuing Education “Oral Surgery and Implantology” (60 ECTS)

1,500 hours (1,200 h face-to-face work, 100 h supervised work, 200 h independent work)

TFM obligatori

1 oral communication to overcome it

 

YEAR 2 & 3

Master’s Degree in Continuing Education “Advanced Oral Surgery and Implantology” (120 ECTS)

3,000 hours (2,400 h face-to-face work, 200 h supervised work, 400 h autonomous work)

TFM obligatori

2 oral communications + 1 published scientific article.

Languages ​​and places: Teaching in Catalan, Spanish and English. Maximum 8 places/year. Bellvitge Campus.

REAL CLINICAL EXPERIENCE.

High clinical burden and diversity of cases.

Clinical practice with patients 3 days/week at the UB Dental Hospital + laboratory practice.

Access to 5,000 interventions/year at the center. Rotations and assistance in surgeries at Sant Joan de Déu and Hospital Clínic.

  • Conventional and surgical extractions

  • Including tooth fenestration

  • Periapical surgery

  • Dental implants

  • Bone regeneration (dehiscences/fenestrations, horizontal/vertical augmentations, sinus elevation…)

  • Periimplant surgeries

  • Navigated surgery (dCAS)

  • Biopsies and cystic exertion

  • Closure of orosinus communications

  • Labial braces surgery

  • Laser Surgery

  • Mucogingival surgery

Clinical internships will put you in direct contact with real patients and professional situations, offering you a unique experience to consolidate your knowledge and gain confidence as a specialist.

Can I start working on my doctoral thesis while I'm doing my Master's degree?

The Master’s team has an important research aspect with several cutting-edge research lines. We actively encourage students’ academic continuity and encourage them to access the doctorate and read their doctoral thesis. Students have the support of expert professors and researchers, as well as access to high-level academic and technological resources.

Will I be able to work while I do my Master's degree?

The student can combine the Master’s degree with a part-time job, as long as it does not interfere with their dedication. The program offers approximately two free half days per week to facilitate this reconciliation.

Can I take the Master's Degree in Advanced Oral Surgery and Implantology without having taken the Master's Degree in Oral Surgery and Implantology?

No. It is essential to have completed and passed the Master’s in Continuing Education “Oral Surgery and Implantology” to be able to enroll in the Master’s in Continuing Education “Advanced Oral Surgery and Implantology”.

Will I do sinus lifts and bone regeneration with membranes?

Yes, students will perform various sinus lift surgeries and bone regeneration procedures.

Will I attend conferences during the Master's degree?

Yes. Attendance at conferences and presentation of papers/posters are encouraged.
